A pub of some age, it appears on Victorian OS maps, modernised and changed over the years but retaining some charm. It still has two bars, labelled either side of the entrance door as Snug (left) and Lounge (right), the servery divides and serves both bars. The Snug is more conventionally decorated while the lounge is mainly exposed stone with a round chimney breast in one corner. The counter is a strange mix of modernish brick or brick on board and reclaimed old wood. A mix of furniture too, I sat on a banquette that required a degree of shifting a copper topped Britannia and iron based table before I could park my bum. The two cask beers, same in both bars were Abbot and a Kirkstall Three Swords not in bad nick, a duo of T-bars in the Lounge and solos in the snug didn’t hide anything promising. Friendly mix of punters on my Wednesday afternoon visit apart from buildery types bar blocking and very nice landlady or barmaid. There's a beer garden at the back with views across countryside.

The Fox and Grapes is a decent looking pub which backs onto open countryside.
Once inside the pub has two separate rooms, there is a small room to the left which is oblong shaped and carpeted, the seating is comfy bench type and small stools, the room to the right is also oblong shaped and runs to the rear, the seating in this room is bench type and copper topped tables.
There were three real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Roosters Golden Pippin which was quite a nice drink, the other beers were Tetley bitter and GK Abbot.
Food was being served but drinkers could drink at any table, both room were very busy on my Saturday dinner visit.
I thought this was a very pleasant pub,the sort of pub to take your wife or girlfriend to.
