Old Boots left this review about The Fleece

An old stone built pub at the bottom of Farley’s long drag of Town Street. Now a Greene King establishment, a plaque outside tells the interested viewer that this was the first Tetley’s tied house, I doubt Joshua Tetley would recognise it now.
Internally there are two modern decorated bars linked at the rear by a corridor and at the front via the gents. The front bar has horseshoes of the usuals and two pulls, Old Golden Hen on one and a blank one with a Taylors coming soon dangling sign, a black board to the side has names of Ossett and Leeds brewery beers which I took to be previous guest ales. Seating here is mostly banquettes and there are screens showing sport and old photo decor. The rear bar appears to have no external access and is furnished with tables and chairs, there are more screens and old photos in here and just a horseshoe of kegs.

Alan Winfield left this review about The Fleece

The Fleece is a large pub that is situated at the bottom end of the high street.
Once inside there is an L shaped front area with the bar facing, this area is carpeted and has comfy bench seating and chairs, there was a TV to the right which was showing cricket, the rear area is smaller and oblong shaped, this area is also carpeted.
There is a very good choice of real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Hop Studio El Dorado which went down very well, the other beers i noted were Dent Ramsbottom,Leeds Pale,Taylor Landlord,Black Sheep bitter,Phoenix White Tornado,Empire Johna and Tetley bitter, all beers are listed in the front room, but there are different beers on in each area.
The pub offers a 10% Camra discount.
The pub does food and was really busy with both drinkers and diners on my Saturday afternoon visit.
If you like a good choice of real ales, this is the pub to visit if in the area.

Deborah Barry left this review about Fleece Hotel

The Fleece at farsley, Leeds was brought by Teteys in 1891 and is offically the oldest of Tetleys purchases, The pub has recently changed management and now provides Tetley cask and guest ales. The pub serves home cooked food including traditional sunday lunches, children menu available too, prices are from £2.50 to £5.95
There is an outside seating area to the front and side of the building and a fully enclosed recently renovated beer garden to the rear of the building, safe for children to play, access in via the games room. There are quiz nights Sunday and thursdays and occasional live music nights, karaoke for those who like to show off their vocal talent (or not!!!) on Sunday afternoons from 4pm
A warm welcome is given as soon as you step inside the pub to the moment you leave, a traditional Tetley house.
