An Ossett brewery house located near the station but in the opposite direction to the famous Navigation. Open plan with multiple spaces it's a nice enough place and fairly popular. Decently kept Ossett and guests on multiple pulls.

Average outside, its a lovely rustic interior, large & separated into a number of areas with tiled floors, carpet in some spaces, victorian fires & lots of feature undressed brick. Plainly decorated but well looked after. A fine place, run by Osset Brewery.

An unexpected visit to Mirfield, with half an hour to kill, enabled me to pay a highly anticipated visit to this acclaimed addition to the local drinking scene. Externally, it’s a fairly nondescript cottage style pub, originally dating from 1807. However, once venturing inside it’s immediately obvious that a lot of money has been spent on the place. Refurbishment has been carried out to the high standard associated with Ossett, with their trademark features of lots of exposed brick and stone, paved floors, dark wood, plus good quality fixtures and fittings They’ve also gone one further by decorating one of the four drinking areas with wall paper featuring pump clips from the extended brewery stable (Ossett, Fernandes, Rat and Riverhead) which I think works rather well.
The bar features five regular beers Yorkshire Blonde, Silver King, Big Red, Treacle Stout and Fullers London Pride, plus three guests. I opted for Jarrow Rivet Catcher, which was in excellent nick, served by an efficient young barman. If it had been a little cooler, I would have stayed indoors and had a nosey round the different drinking areas, but a baking hot July afternoon meant that one of the picnic benches on the patio, to the rear of the pub, beckoned. Whilst there I noticed a couple of nice touches in a bike rack for cyclists and a large bowl of water for customers with dogs.
In short, I was very impressed with the Flower Pot and look forward to visiting again as soon as possible.
