The White Swan is a very basic community local with a left hand side that was closed and a small right hand area. In the right hand side is a small bar that faces a couple of tables and more seating can be found to the right where there is also a small television and a fruit machine. Sitting at the tables opposite the bar during my visit on Monday afternoon last week were four old boys playing dominoes and a group of very loud twenty-something lads in building gear. There was some low background music playing and I noted that there is a quiz on Sundays and Tuesdays.
The bar supports five standard keg products and a hand pump that looked as though it hadn’t been used for some time. I wasn’t made to feel unwelcome, but as a non-local to the area I think I will give the place a swerve next time.
