A fine old building which has been made into a pub with a reasonable amount of taste. The front door leads into the bar area, with the bar counter on the left, featuring five hand pumps in the centre. Only two beers on, with Wainwright Gold turned around (excusable, as it's a quiet Monday), Hobgoblin IPA and Pedigree being the available options. The Pedigree was in very good condition (NBSS 3.5, £5/pint). Looking around for a place to sit, I noted a number of tables and chairs near the bar, in various styles and heights; the room to the right had a number of animal heads affixed to the chimney breast; moving swiftly on, the room on the right connecting to the hunting room had lots of tables all laid for dining, so I ended up back where I started. It's comfortable enough here, away from the gaze of that wild boar - I'd be wild too, if my head was going to be stuck on the wall of a pub.
