This is a nice looking pub on the western edge of the village, but the young couple running it are not being done any favours by the pubco charging extortionate amounts for the rent and for supplies when the other two pubs are able to charge much lower for their drinks (one is a social club, the other a free house wholly owned by a family who've run it for 25 years). The lass I talked to is putting a brave face on it, but I'll not be surprised if this one closes before long. My half of Ossett Blonde barely scraped average (NBSS 2, £4/pint) but it's hardly surprising when beers in the other two outlets are just £3 a pint.
