The most down to earth pub in the village, The only wet led one, slightly later opening to the others but not as late as Camra thinks, do check before visiting. One open plan room with the counter on the back right wall. Still a fairly traditional interior although with more modern furniture, some in the Ikea style, there’s a soft sofa area as well. Beers on the three pumps from Moorhouses and two from Taylors including their colab stout with Northern Monk, a horseshoe has a selection of the usual latins and cider plus solos for Peroni, Heineken and of course Guinness. A very big screen was tuned to horse racing and seventies hits played quietly in the background.

Will Larter left this review about The Lord Addingham

A village pub that has recently changed hands, with consequent change of name from the former Sailor, which I never went in (it was never open on my previous visits to Addingham). The pub's exterior certainly looks a lot smarter, and the inside has been given a right going over. It's thoroughly modern, with 00s lamps, 90s floor, 80s tables and chairs, 70s wallpaper and 60s tongue and groove. I got the impression that the people running this pub now are first-timers - there's a combination of tremendous enthusiasm and slightly amateurish execution. Timothy Taylor provided both the available beers, Landlord and Golden Best, and my pint of the former was very thoroughly thrashed by the sparkler and return valve, but pretty good nevertheless. My arrival was closely followed by the evening's bingo session, which had the slight benefit of requiring the silencing of the background music. I've only ever experienced bingo when passing one of those amusement stalls at the seaside, so this was a new experience for me - and a completely tedious and very boring one it was too. Luckily I had declined the option of taking part and was able to leave long before any shouts of "house" had been made.

Real Ale Ray left this review about The Sailor

A well run locals free house pub with a friendly and chatty landlord. The interior is comfortable and had a homely feel. A fire was lit at the far end of the bar area and a large TV was showing some sport at a reasonable volume. Two ales on handpump TT Landlord and Tetleys.
