The wife and I stayed here for 2 nights in late January.
The bar is as much part of the hotel as the restaurant is that gets a fair bit of publicity. When we arrived at 9.30 on a Friday the noise and laughter drew us in instead of venturing round to the Ilkley Moor Tap. Several groups made up the clientele, average age 45 at my guess.
Anyway enough of that, now onto the ale, the 5 hand pumps had 4 ales which were all from Yorkshire. Saltaire Cascade, Tetley's Cask, Timothy Taylor Landlord and Ilkley Pale. I can strongly recommend the Ilkley Pale, which was excellent.
The decor is very much hotel bar, with an open fire and a large mirror above it. Plenty of tables and chairs and long against the window banquette seating.
Music playing around the bar from a radio, mainly tunes from the 60s and 70s.
We stayed until closing then I had a cheeky after hours pint with the friendly barman.
A very decent bar with good ales & service

The Riverside Hotel is in a nice leafy location close to the River Wharfe.
Once inside the public bar is accessed by going left into the dining room and then down a few steps.
This room is a decent size and square shaped, the floor is bare boarded, the seating comfy bench type and comfy looking chairs, there was a large TV on showing darts.
There was a decent choice of real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Thwaites Wainwright, which went down very well, the other beers on the bar were Ilkley Mary Jane,Saltaire Blonde,Taylor Landlord and Tetley Cask.
I quite liked it here, the sort of place i could settle down in for a good session.

A hotel public bar at the tradesman's entrance of the building beside a riverside terrace and smoking patio. The beer was cold but OK even when at drinking temperature. One large, almost square room with the counter in one corner, Taylors Landlord, Ilkley Mary Jane, Copper Dragon Best and foreign beer in the form of Tetleys Cask on the four handpumps. Round Britannia tables with leather chairs, the front wall has banquette seating, not much different to the adjacent dining room which has square tables. Décor comprises generally tasteful arty pictures and a couple of wine porn shots. It has the atmosphere and service of a hotel bar which is of course what it is. There are two big projection screens and it is in the GBG2012..
