Partly a dining sort of pub with two bars, more of a dining lounge to the right with seating in alcoves and divided areas. Counter to one side with three pulls, Taylors Landlord, Wainwright and one unclipped plus a horseshoe of standard lagers, cider and Guinness. High and lower seating near the counter, tables and chairs for eating at in other parts. There’s a screen and carpet / laminate flooring. It has a big old OS map on one wall, otherwise it’s fairly plain on the cream walls with a different shade on cream woodwork. To the left is a smaller public bar with a couple of dart boards, a couple of screens, banquette seating in a raised area, machines and a stone/laminate floor. A horseshoe of the same kegs as the lounge, a few solos / duo and just the one pull with Taylors Landlord. Witty signs painted above the urinals on the grey gents toilet wall: small; medium; large; liar. At least it opens at noon which cannot be said about the other three pubs in Burley.

A large village pub, rebuilt in 1893 and mucked about with a couple of times since then, if I'm any judge. It's now split between the two modern extremes of family dining and beer garden on the one hand, and keeping the village youth happy with sport on TV on the other. The latter is comparatively an afterthought, getting the smaller left hand room, while the family diners get two rooms and plenty of outdoor space if the weather suits. As for casual beer drinkers, well...

There were three hand pumps, with Wainwright and two from Timothy Taylors: Landlord and Boltmaker. Both of them fine beers if they are kept right and poured frequently enough to get through the barrel before any decline is noticed; my half of Boltmaker showed signs that the latter criterion had not been met.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Red Lion

Attractive old inn, with separate public and lounge bars, but an old auctioneer's plan on one wall shows a much more complicated former layout in 1891 (including a brew house, now a dining room) before the place was rebuilt in 1893. Comfortable semi-modern furniture and decor. Large patio beer garden at the front. Total of six handpumps on the two bar counters, offering Tetley's Cask, Landlord, Ilkley Mary Jane, Saltaire Pride, York Guzzler and Abbeydale Sovereign (£3.20).
