June 2014 Pre-booked table for 11 Early Saturday Evening.
Very impressed with this unassuming public house just on the outskirts of Huddersfield Town center. In fact it sits on a road that runs parallel with the M62 between junctions 23 and 24.
The first thing to announce is the vast number and selections available on the various menus. Some were on the 'early bird' (5-7pm) some on the specials and some on the A-la-carte but the selection was overwhelming. Some of the party selected the two course deal with a starter or desert with main in regular or small sizes. Excellent value but 'buyer beware' as many in the party couldn't finish their main meal because the portions were both plentiful and very tasty. Even those who opted for the two course with desert struggled to finish them off.
Courses were very well prepared and as said the portions are large. Apart from a few chunky chips most of the plates were cleared with relish. Staff were extremely friendly and the service was excellent as all meals came out together and none were over-cooked or cold.
So well done to all involved and thanks for a great meal and an enjoyable evening. Will definitely call back when next in the area. Highly recommended.
