Demolition work has begun on what was one of Huddersfield’s best-known pubs.
The Grey Horse in Birchencliffe will be levelled and a Tesco convenience store built in its place.

Lovely pub with friendly staff ready with a smile, pint and great conversation. Variety of games, including free WiFi for all patrons to enjoy. Higher quality meals than your average "pub" food. You can definately taste the home cooking. Great crowd, loads of fun, fantastic pub and definately must visit.

Really good friendly staff. Free WiFi. Some excellent Real Ales. Reasonably priced excellent home cooked menu available til 8 pm. Pub is open late on weekends. It has a really good crowd and never any trouble. Thursday pub quiz and they do this card game with some huge cash prizes. One guy won Â£200 recently. Landlord and staff are all really friendly and don't let any idiots in. Well worth a visit for lunch / dinner
