The Red Lion Inn is a decent looking pub that has a nice tiled front,it is situated right in the middle of Heckmondwike.
Once inside there is a single dog legged shaped room, the bar is to the front left, the seating is comfy bench type and the floor is carpeted, the rear area is bare boarded, there is a pool table in this area.
There were no real ales on the bar,i had a drink of John Smiths smooth crap which lived up to its name, there was some decent background music playing, the pub was almost empty on my Friday dinner visit.
The landlord was very helpfull in letting me know which pubs were closed in the area.
I like these sort of pubs, shame there was not one real ale on the bar.
