A modern sports bar as the name suggests, one L shaped room with matching counter, a pool table takes up the front left. The counter has a wide selection of national kegs on solos on both faces, the only beer of note being Victoria Malaga - a new one on me and there’s an own brand labelled lager. Four pulls with London Pride, Stancil Nightshift and Taylors Boltmaker which was off but changed without quibble and taken off sale, full marks there. Screens in both areas, ditto machines, everyone ignored the piped music as usual, although the punters looked like the standard town centre sports bar types. Darts are located at the end of the long right hand end. Actually not a bad place.

Westgate 23 is a new venture which is situated in the middle of Heckmondwike.
Once inside there is a single L shaped room with the bar facing,the front right area has a laminate floor and a couple of normal tables and chairs,the left side is carpeted and has more normal tables and chairs,plus a couple of tall tables and chairs,there are TVs to the front right and rear right which were showing a music channel at a loud volume.
There were four real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Clarks Classic Blonde which went down very well,the other beers i noted were Taylor Landlord,Black Sheep bitter,and beer called Atlantic Hop.
If you like loud wallpaper then this is the place to see it.
This is a decent enough pub with some decent real ales on the bar.
Note: it does not open until 3 in the afternoon.
