With Oddy's closed just round the corner, the commercial area of King Cross is left with just the Feathers and this local. It is set on the main street, surrounded by loads of fast food takeaways and some rather dubious characters at night.
Inside was much calmer with couples enjoying a quiet drink and a fair few watching live FA Cup football on TVs in pretty much every corner of the pub. It is carpeted and had quite a cosy feel. Black Sheep Best Bitter & Bradfield Farmer's Blonde were the real ales.

The William 1V is a stone built pub that is set in a terrace with shops either side of it.
Once inside the main room is oblong shaped with the bar facing, the room is carpeted and has comfy bench seating and small stools for seating, there is a raised area up a few steps to the front right, the seating here is normal tables and chairs, there is a also a small separate room to the rear which has bench seating.
There were two real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Tetley bitter which was a decent enough drink, the other beer was Doom Bar.
The pub was packed on my Saturday dinner visit, with older people drinking and having meals.
The TV was showing the derby v Leeds game.
This is a decent enough pub to have a few drinks in.

The best pint of Tetleys I have ever tasted. Order a takeaway from one of the many splendid eateries (i think thats the right word) on King Cross Road and tell them to take as long as they like - pop into the pub and savour Tetleys at its best. Anybody doubting that Tetleys could be that good - just try it!
