pleasant enough community pub with a dining focus, on the outskirts of town. Standard layout with decor mostly consisting of beer/pub jokes. Friendly welcome from down to earth staff and customers, but it was rather quiet when one would expect it to be busy. No real ale so it was a Lagunitas IPA at ca. £4 a pint. Up a steep hill from the town centre, which does offer some impressive views and a feeling of satisfaction when you arrive.

Many thanks to Danny for his kind words can I just add that we are now free from any tie and after a £100,000 refurbishment we are once again a free house selling real ale from all of the local brewers large and small, beer garden, children's play area and a decent smokers area with heaters and seating. As the new landlord I like to run the place as a landlord not a manager which we will leave to the pubco's!

My Favourite pub, recently re opened under new management and the drinks are a bit cheaper, unfortunatley this pub has been closed on and off for the last few years but it is good to see someone new making a go of it, great view of halifax and a nice beer garden for the summer, well worth a visit.
