Older stone building at right angles to the road. It’s a two bar pub, sports type room to the right with tall tables, pool, darts, screens, machine, a couple of T-Bars and a single pull with Old Speckled Hen reversed, there is also a toilet smell from the lavatories behind the servery. The left hand bar has lower seating, a couple of T-Bars and solos, an unclipped pull, screens, machine and no smell. Red walls are decorated with a few old black & white photos of the area. Nice outdoor patio to the side with a smoking shelter. Another pretty standard town centre pub.

Strongers . left this review about The Wellington

The Wellington is a long thin pub with central bar that serves both side of the pub. Seating is found in the left-hand side and more seating is in the right along with a dartboard, pool table and jukebox. Televisions are located throughout for showing Sky and BT Sport. The bar supports a standard keg range and two hand pumps, one in each bar. One of these was unused and the other was drawing Moorhouses Blonde Witch. Food is not available. Outside the front of the pub is a tarmacked beer garden with some covered picnic tables.
