E TA left this review about Griffin Inn

A John Barras roadside pub with a car park and bench seating at the front. The Victorian building has been refurbished to provide a single large bar and dining room, losing much of its character in the process, although a large original brick fireplace has been retained. A separate room has been retained as a games room; this has a pool table and several gaming machines. There is a function room in a separate annex at the back, adjacent to the car park. BT Sport was advertised, but the TV screens were switched off when we visited. Food was very much the reheated burger-and-bloat style, unappetising and intended for those who don't need to eat anyway. There were a fair few handpumps in the bar, but these appeared to be just for show as there were only 2 ales on, Wadworths 6X and GK IPA which were, to be fair, in good condition. It's a good local, hosting events such as quiz nights and various theme events, and it's fine to stop for a pint if passing.
