An interesting back street local pub for local people but certainly not unwelcoming. There is a small upright drinking space on entering with a standard bar to the right, beyond is another room but undecorated on our visit. The beer comprised a reasonably well kept John Smiths cask plus the usual national kegs. Pies, pasties and Scotch eggs are also available but not in a craft bar way (or price!). Basic sort of decor and enevitably a big screen, a wood burning stove was blazing away on a hot June day. I felt it showed the effects of a small gene pool, Ale & Hearty thought it would be at home in the League of Gentlemen. It's just across the road and up the street from Tetley Dave's so not that hard to find.

Built into the Potteries estate of Castleford, this pub is not easy to find. A dated pub which caters for the regulars of the old terraced estate. It is so well hidden, the majority of the population of Castleford would not be able to tell you where it is!
