The George is a large looking corner pub that is situated at the end of one of Brighouses's shopping streets.
Once inside there is a decent sized L shaped room with the bar to the front which faces inwards, the left side is carpeted and has bench seating and chairs, the TVs were showing rugby, the right side is part tiled and bare boarded, there is a pool table to the right of this area.
There were two real ales on,i had a drink of Tetley Cask which was a decent enough drink, the other beers was Doom Bar.
There was crap background music playing and the pub was very busy on my Saturday afternoon visit.
A typical town pub that i like to do.

An opened out one room pub with several areas. There's a pool table to the rear and a quiz machine which wasn't working on my visit. As OB says the bar back is probably the outstanding feature. 2 handpumps serving Tetleys cask and a just about OK Exmoor Ale. If the beer had been better I would have stayed longer as the jukebox was excellent. Live music and a DJ at weekends.

A knocked through Victorian corner pub with an oddly placed counter, home to two pulls and the usual national kegs, Tetley cask and guest Adnams Lighthouse on this occasion I stuck with Tetley's Black Country bitter which was adequate. The bar back is very nice with a stained glass canopy. The other customers were mainly older males in spite of a pool table at one end. Juke box, darts and screens for entertainment, old photo decor, and finished off with traditional furnishings.
