The Black Bull is a decent enough looking pub.
Once inside there is a square shaped room to the left which is divided into different areas, there is a raised area to the front left which is carpeted, the seating is bench type and small stools, the main area is bare boarded.
There is a separate lounge to the right which is also carpeted ans has bench seating with small stools and chairs.
There were two real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Charles Wells Heavenly which went down well, the other beer was GK Abbot.
Background music was playing and the pub was quite busy on my Saturday afternoon visit.
I thought this was a decent pub to have a drink in.

I actually visited this pub a couple of weeks before OB, but due to a backlog of reviews I've only just got around to writing this. The pub was indeed "interesting" on my Friday, early evening visit. There's a lounge area to the left as you enter, to the right is a tap room with a pool table. Lots of old furniture around which looked to date from around the same era as the pub, but probably aren't original. Two handpumps on the bar, both badged up with Marston's Help For Heroes which was kept well enough and served by a friendly, if somewhat loud barmaid. The really "interesting" features were the clientele. High vis jackets or grey Primark tracksuit bottoms appeared to be the choice of evening attire for the discerning punter in here. Quite a lot of the crowd appeared to have been in here for quite a while by 6 on a Friday. Loud and sweary, despite there being a couple of young kids in the pub. It's a decent looking pub, shame about the clientele.

Rob CAMRA described this one to me as "interesting", I must have caught it on a good day apart from a character barmaid and a couple of dodgy punters it's a standard late Victorian boozer. It's been knocked through a bit but still has two rooms, one plainish with a pool table, the other main room with several spaces left after wall removal all with traditional bench seating at cast iron tables with stools. Also has some nice blue and white tiling and tongue & groove. Naturally screens, machines and too loud music predominate. Just the two pulls both with Help for Heroes from owners Marstons, a dreary but drinkable beer, otherwise the national kegs on a couple of T-bars. Probably more "interesting" in the evening.
