No cask but a decent traditional boozer next to the Andy Capp statute on the old harbour side. An interior of plain dark wood including tongue and groove, with a cast iron fireplace and Britannias, banquette seating all round in the front bar. There are two bars and a function room, the main front bar and a smaller lounge called the Coxswain’s Room. Finished in nautical decor of ropes and stuff, a monkey is hanging behind the counter as the historical event is thought to have occurred on the beach outside. Cursed with music and screen, there is also a darts board above the fireplace. It used to be called the Harbour of Refuge and the previous pub sign is still hanging outside.
