Requested be closed with reason - Other: The Turf has been sold and will shortly open as an Indian restaurant. See: https://www.thetelegraphandargus.co.uk/news/15035670.historic-pub-set-to-close-its-doors-next-weekend/ Facebook has it that a banner on the property names the restaurant as 'Kashmiri Aroma'.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Turf
Imposing building rebuilt in 1894, and now an unbranded food-led pub. Part opened-out inside to leave various seating and dining areas in an overall 'L' shape. Mostly hotel lounge bar-style furniture and decor. Just one of three handpumps was working, offering the 'house' (Cameron's) Pale (£2.50), with a reversed Doom Bar clip also noted (so didn't miss much).

Just next to Lister Park, this place has the potential to be an excellent venue but sadly lacks the spirit it needs. No real ales no tap when I visited, all expensive commercial largers instead and not particularly friendly staff. Felt like a plastic palace rather than a true pub.
