Open plan pub obviously once several rooms but retaining enough bits of walls so it has three or four different areas. Traditionally furnished largely with banquette and wooden tables, with tongue and groove ceilings, some nice repro’ pictures and the usual old photos as decor. A few things hint at a ex-services licensee. There’s a pool table, screens and machines of course. The central servery has two pulls, only Wainwright was on but a reasonable drink, keg tastes catered for on three T-Bars of usual suspects, John Smith’s Smooth crap among them and perhaps still mocking Mr Winfield. A couple of old blokes in, one quiet, one loud and sweary. It’s ok as a crawl destination.

The Fountain is set sideways onto the road.
Once inside there is a single square shaped room which has comfy bench seating and chairs, there is a darts board to the front left and a pool table to the front right, the TV to the rear right was showing horse racing.
No real ales on the bar,so it was a drink of Tetley Smooth which was a poor drink, the other keg bitter was John Smiths smooth crap.
Nothing special about this pub,but i was pleased to do it.
