The picnic tables outside the front of the Royal Oak were very busy last Saturday afternoon, but both bars inside the pub were empty. To the right is the public bar that houses a pool table and a jukebox that was playing some background music. There is also a plasma screen that was switched off and there is no Sky Sports. I drank my pint in the left hand bar where there are a few chalk boards listing some pub grub dishes that come in around the £7 mark. The kitchen is open from 11:30 until 21:00 Monday thru to Saturday and from midday until 19:00 on Sundays. The bar is stocked with standard draught and the two hand pumps were drawing Harveys Best and Shepherd Neame’s Spitfire.
There are various events held throughout the week which include a quiz on Sundays and Tuesdays, live music on Thursdays and Saturdays, open mic on Mondays and free pool on Wednesdays.

I’d have no problem returning here if I was passing.
