My recent Friday evening visit to the White Knight coincided with their Halloween party so there was a disco with flashing lights and loud ghoulish music. There were lots of families present, but they were in a seating area separate from the bar. I would imagine that this area is used as a function room when the need arises. In the main section of the pub are the bar and three pool tables down a few steps to the left. There is also a dartboard to the left rear, but this was where the disco had been set up. A couple of plasma screens were showing Championship football via Sky Sports, but the disco was too loud to make watching worthwhile. The bar was stocked with standard draught and I spotted two hand pumps. One of these was unused and the Sharp’s Doom bar was off meaning that there was no cask ale.

I found the hand washing facility in the gents amusing because the hand dryer is above the sink. Unfortunately the laws of physics do not allow for hands to be washed and dried at the same time. Outside the front of the pub is a patio area with some seating and parking spaces.

I found the locals that I met to be down to earth and friendly, but I cannot see myself making a return trip anytime soon.
