The Dr Samuel Johnson is a community estate pub on the end of a parade of shops. During a recent Friday afternoon visit there were fifteen or so builder types in the carpeted bar area at the front of the pub. Here is a television primarily for airing BT Sports and a jukebox which was off due to a music station being played off the TV. To the right of the TV is a dartboard. Available from the serving counter on the right wall was a standard keg range and the two hand pumps were unused. The tiled rear half of the pub houses a pool table. There is a rear bar that was closed during my visit.
I found the service to be polite enough, but £2.10 is a bit steep for half a grotty Fosters in an estate pub at the end of a parade of shops.
