Canal side pub. I know the cask marque sign on the outside of a pub is not necessarily an indication of quality, but maybe a lapsed one is. No date underneath, and the app confirmed it was no longer certified.
Family friendly dining pub, that has rather too much Covid paraphernalia left for my liking. Arrows still on the floor. Details on their web site, including details on theme nights for Poker and Cocktails.
Bar downnstairs, with an upper, dog friendly floor providing access to the facilities.
Food was standard pub grub - served quickly and decent value. For that, they can have both my stars.
A Marstons pub, I probably made the mistake of going for Enville Ale, which by the look of it had been on for weeks. The beer looked and tasted nothing like it should but the kicker was the dirty glass. Tight bubbles forming all over the glass.
I would normally have taken it back, even in a new pub, but I had already had a far too complex and involved conversation about whether the fishfingers were breaded or battered. According to my two server conversation, they were battered. With breadcrumbs.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Round Oak
Attractive pub / restaurant overlooking the Staffordshire & Worcestershire Canal, having extensive rear patio and grassed beer gardens beside the towpath. Slightly split-level collection of small seating / dining areas, all with semi-traditional furniture and decor. Background music. I found the two regular Banks's beers - Amber and Sunbeam (£1.70, half) - and Youngs Original available from the two banks of four handpumps.

Another decent pub with the added bonus of a canal side location. Banks's Amber, Sunbeam and Thwaites Wainwright on offer. The 2 we tried were fine. I would happily call again.
