A 1960s detached Banks's estate pub in undressed brick. The 'pub' is in fact in the extension to the house.
The interior has at least two rooms, a large bar room at the back (indeed, i thought the pub closed at first) and a family room (lounge) where they may serve food, but the 'carvery' sign outside on the wall was a little faded. The bar room was open plan with some low wood partioning to break up the room. it is in a dark flower patterned wallpaper, magnolia and wood panel mix, with white ceiling, with part tiled and part carpeted floor. The seats were a little eclectic in their coverings. There was darts and a pool table on a raised area. There was a large screen TV (not on) and a smaller TV with Poirot solving the death on the Nile. There was a mixed crowd of locals - all ages and a nice atmosphere. The service was fine and there was no music to prevent us from listening to David Suchet. There were a few photos of past sports teams sponsored by the pub - bowls seemed to feature. There was also a Wolves shirt on the walls.
Beer; all tap stuff, no real ale - Banks's MILD and Bitter smooth - i had a shandy.
Another community pub really rather than somewhere you would seek to travel to, as it does lack real ale, which is why i wouldn't go back. For those that are happy with keg beer, i am sure it would be fine.
