A detached canal-side cottage styled Banks's pub, with extension, in cream render. There is a patio area and a kiddies play area as well. The pub is in Short Heath.
The interior has a bar room and a dining area, which is in the extension - i didn't really see this room. The bar room is L-shaped and curves around the serving bar that faces you on entry. The walls and ceiling are in a toffee and white decor, with some nice green tiling, especially around the fire which was lit and needed at my visit. The floor was tiled and the seats are tidy red leather. There are a few trophies but nothing really in the shape of ephemera or pictures. The TV had a documentary on Candid Camra - which was entertaining enough and there was no music.The service was friendly. There is a dart area at one end of the room. A couple of other locals were in but i have been in before when there was a mix from kids to old, men, women, hoody to shirt.
The beer was usual stuff with cask Banks's MILD and bitter, which was decent.
I have found this place friendly when ever i have visited and have no problem in going - it just lacks a real ale choice for me.
