A 1930s looking triangular corner pub in undressed brick. The pub keeps its own hours it seems, after chatting to the gaffer, hence confusion on whether it was open or not!
The interior had a couple of rooms that i saw, a bar and a pool room, but i think there was a lounge (with lights out). The bar is a rough L-shape room, with mainly blue and cream wallpaper, though there is some undressed brick around the dartboard which is at the far end. There are blue and grey carpet tiles on the floor and a plain white ceiling. There are a few pencil line prints on the walls and a couple of TVs, with the snooker on one last night. The pool room is in white, with some red paintwork and has a white fireplace and a few varied prints on the walls. The service was really friendly and there was one other bloke in, as the dart team were playing away. Music was supplied via the radio.
Beer; there were a couple of real ale hadpulls but nothing on, except Banks's MILD electronic cask MILD. Along with the other usual keg drinks there was Mansfield Bitter and Banks's Dark MILD, which was class. Oyster Stout had a tap, but the gaffer says it is on intermittently
I like this pub for pub games and a choice of MILDs. Sadly, it seems quiet hence the closure in the day and some nights. Nothing for the real ale drinker, but worth a visit for the MILDs
