A pleasant looking building close to the church, the building dates back to the 1600s. The interior consisted of the main bar area on the left of entrance, a small snug near main entrance, plus a lounge area on the right. The interior was well maintained and had a country pub style to it. Two handpumps on the bar, none of which were in use. We called in here on a Saturday lunchtime and there was only two customers in, which is disappointing.

Visited over a year ago but the pub has since been closed for refurb and now reopened. Now looks much more modern and has possibly been opened out slightly, though it was fairly open plan before if I remember correctly. The dark wood has been painted over and it looks nice, but perhaps a shame to lose some of that traditional feel. Three hand pumps at the bar, offering Bell Ringer by Coach House (which may be Spring Ale rebadged), Elderflower by Coach House (sadly off at the time of my visit) and Bombardier Gold or Glorious English. A slight improvement on the ale front as on my previous visit the best option was Courage Directors. Pricing fine at £1.50 for a half. A nice traditional looking pub that has been brought up to date a bit. No plans to rush back but worth doing at least once.

A bit of a walk from the town centre this is a pleasant slightly olde worlde pub (though a recent refurb has modernised it). It is situated next to a church and from the outside looks like it is a two- roomed pub. It is mainly open plan though and there are a couple of offshoot areas. Its very family friendly which meant a few noisy kids in on my visit. The were a couple of real ales on with both beers being from Weetwood on my visit.
