UPDATE - I returned here as a part of my West Brom tour, as it was advertised as under new management. The exterior remains the same, in plain brick. The interior has had a make-over and now looks a lot more tidy, in coffee and white (some of it wood panel) and undressed brick. The raised areas have TVs (showing the White Queen) and there is a little one behind the bar. There are a couple of burners in the fireplaces in the raised areas. A few ornaments, bistro pictures and plastic flowers are about too. The place now does Indian food for £5-ish. Beer; no real ale, usual tap stuff with a decent enough Banks's MILD.

(MAR 2011) A detached corner pub, with a 1930s looking undressed brick facade.
The interior ia a U-shape with a couple of raised areas with fireplaces. The one end has a pool table in red and green, with the rest of the pub being in cream, red, patterned wallpaper and wood panel, with that yellowy nicotine kind of coloured ceiling. It looked a bit tired and i believe it has just been taken over. There were a few railway pictures on the walls, but looked a little bare and a couple of TVs, one having some daytime TV on, the other nothing. There was no music, but the do seem to be booking up bands for live music. The service was fine and there was no other clientele at my visit. They did a food menu, which seemed good value, but i didn't eat so can't comment on that.
Beer; no real ale, so all tap stuff, but no MILD. I had Guinness, which was passable.
Nothing for the real ale fan and no MILD, so no return for me.

West Indian run pub with emphasis on West Indian food, and socialising.
Friendly service and smart rooms, obviously tidied up from the last review (though the pool and gaming area remains), its tidy but not a traditional type pub with architectural interest.
It appears kept well and is comfortable but personally for me does not score higher due to the total lack of any beer (apart from lager) of either draft or even keg variety.
