Strongers . left this review about The Sandwell
The Sandwell is a Craft Union pub with a long bar mid placed across the rear wall where standard and premium keg is available alongside St Austell’s Tribute, Hobgoblin and GK Old Speckled Hen from the three hand pumps. A pool table and dartboard are found to the left and seating runs up the right. Televisions found throughout were airing muted live sport whilst some background music played; live music is advertised for the weekends. I found the young barman to be polite and the strong Monday night piss head crowd all seemed harmless enough, but the air was a bit blue so glad no children are allowed in. An OK pub for the area.

Just an observation - but I would say that this place has benefited by the closure of the JDW around the corner.
This place was packed on a Tuesday afternoon with groups of old boys on smooth pour or guinness.
Typical large chain style city pub.
Four handpulls, three turned around and in the heat, I was rather pleased that the only one with a forward facing pump clip - was off. No TT Landlord for me.
Birra Moretti for £4.10.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Sandwell
Now the only vaguely traditional pub still open in the centre of West Bromwich, with the 'spoons and Interceptor accounting for the remaining trade. This one has also been opened-out and refurbished in an anonymous semi-modern style, with the two pool tables being the main thing to note. Thankfully, real ale is still available, with Robinson's Trooper and Backyard's seasonal Project Beach Ball (£2.45, and in reasonable shape) available from two of the three handpumps. NB - No food available, unlike many town-centre Stonegate pubs.
