Strongers . left this review about The Smokehouse
The Smokehouse has split-level seating at the front where a raised bar counter is found to the left. Premium keg was available. The much larger rear is a restaurant, I didn’t see a menu but I’m assuming it’s Indian food. The barmaid was polite, but this was the most expensive place I visited during a recent Monday crawl of the area. There were a couple of locals having a beer whilst gossiping with he barmaid, but it’s not somewhere I’d go just for a drink again.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Smokehouse
Once traditional pub now opened-out and remodelled into a slightly split-level bar at the front and a much larger dining room up a couple of steps at the back, all refurbished in a semi-modern style. No real ale, of course, but there was a reasonable range of 11 keg beers and ciders from the various shiny founts, including the M&B Mild (£2.90).

This is a nice looking detached Victorian cottage-style pub, without a patio area. The pub is in white render, with a touch of blue, and has a dog-tooth cornice and a pilastered frontage. The interior has a single room that curves all the way around the slightly irregular shaped serving bar, which has nice wood and coloured glass. The room is in cream ceiling and upper wall, with dark and even darker red patterned wallpaper. There is a small tiled fireplace. There is a pool table and a dart board and the TV had some general programme on. There was no music. The is a bit of Baggies stuff on the walls, with a few old pictures and the perimeter seating looks a little tired, although there is a nice original Victorian feel to it. There are a few ornaments too. The service was friendly and a few locals were in, as well as a dog. Beer; there is no real ale, just tap stuff - i had a shandy, although there was a Banks's MILD. A great pub that holds its historic feel, but sadly, no real ale.
