A large detached Marston's pub and eatery, with a patio area. It is a late 1970s/early 80s modern build, replacing the old quirky Bradford Arms (known locally as the Frying Pan, from a big frying pan that hung on the wall, or something like that) hence the new name. The pub is in exposed and white painted brick a looks a little soulless from the outside.
The interior has a couple of rooms connected by an internal corridor. They are both in cream and red walls, with cream ceiling and decorated with some interesting old photos of the area. The back room is a spacious open-plan loungy/diner. The main bar room has a mix of tile, wood and carpet flooring. The tile is around the wood serving bar that faces you on entry. The wood is around the pool table and dart board. The carpet is around a dining secion with toffee coloured seating, serving a budget menu - including a 2 for £6 midweek offer. There are a couple of TVs (only one on with some daytime stuff). There was no background music. The service was very friendly and two guys turned up as i left - so not much clientele.
Beer; a total keg pub at my last visit, the place now has a few real ales on, EPA and a decent enough Banks's MILD.
"Why on earth anyone would want to go here is beyond me", was the impression from my first visit, however, it had improved a lot this time around - the MILD was certainly worth popping in for and the bar area is tidy.
