I returned to the pub today after its refurbishment - well, it is now a self styled restuarant and bar.

The interior is now one room, with the bar moving to the side on entry, meaning that the old small lounge is now the dining area. The decor is a sort of mushroomy colour (no, i am not an interior designer) with wood panel, and a small string course of green tiling - it looks quite neat. The small fireplace is still there, but the pub looks fresher and cleaner now. There is a dart board and Sky TV. I didn't eat, but everything seemed to be around £5 on the chalk board menu. Service was fine and there seemed to be several locals in. A few generic kind of prints hang on the walls, but in general it is a plain look.

Beer; all tap stuff, i had a reasonable Banks's MILD.

Sadly, there is no real ale to attract that part of the market, but for those happy enough with keg, you could do a lot worse!

This pub has been refurbished and reopened as a restaurant and bar, it reopened on the 26th April. It is also on facebook with photos. Meals are excellent and the prices do not break the bank, 2 main meals less than £10.
