Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Waterside
Club-like single-storey pub featuring a square bar with the pool table and a pair of dartboards in an extended area beyond. Plenty of neat, semi-modern furniture but plainly decorated in both parts. No real ale, unfortunately, with the keg options including Worthington's, Banks's Original (£2.90), Caffrey's and Marston's Pearl Jet stout. NB - Not sure where the water is or was, but this may be an old in-joke since there is none nearby!

As Soupy says, this was obviously some sort of social club. The Banks's bitter was fine and the locals were very friendly. I enjoyed my visit.

A low level, detached, 60s looking undressed brick and white rendered pub, with beer garden, serving the community of Brownhills West. I believe it was a former social club and it gives every impression of being so, inside and out.
The interior is open plan and very like a community hall, or working men's club - indeed it was bingo night when i first popped in and it was Christmas night, with fancy dress etc last night - it is a proper community place, where they all knew each other. Decor was wood panel and cream, with some exposed brick, with red carpet and a white ceiling. A few old trophies and a few pictures made up the decoration. There are two dart boards and a pool table at one end, and Sky TV showing the footy. Service was very friendly and the clientele mixed, local and friendly.
Beer; sadly, no real ale, despite a handpull being present, but there was Banks's MILD smooth, Banks's DARK MILD and Banks's Bitter cask on electronic pump. The Dark MILD was very good (Used to have Highgate MILD and special, now gone).
The place just has a nice feel to it - the building isnt aesthetically nice, the people made it feel welcoming. The choice of keg drinks - especially the dark MILD is great; give this place just one real ale and it would be even better. A joy to pop into. A real community pub.
