Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Shire Oak
Quite an attractive pub that has been refurbished in recent years both outside and within. Lounge and public bars partially opened-out at some stage to leave an overall 'U'-shaped layout. Semi-modern furniture throughout. Food available, but the place was very busy with a big football match on the various TVs when I visited. Patio beer garden. Greene King IPA, Doom Bar and Banks's Sunbeam (£3.25) being dispensed from the two banks of three handpumps.

An detached corner pub in cream render, with some red-ish paintwork and etched glass, with a rear patio/beer garden. It looks quite tidy from the outside.
The inside has a couple of rooms. If you enter from the car par, a door to the left takes you to the lounge and straight ahead is a door to the bar. The bar has had a tidy-up since my last visit and looks fine in cream, red and wood panel, with a wood floor. There is a little fireplace, a dart board and a TV, which had Wimbledon on at my visit. The lounge is a straight room nearly bisected by a hearth feature. The decor here is cream with some peppermint green around the hearth feature. There is a cream ceiling with beams and a carpet floor. There was no TV here and the music was general and at a decent level. The service was fine and the clientele a nice mix. I am not sure if they do food anymore, as none was available when we visited.
Beer wise; it had usual tap stuff, but there were 7 handpulls; a decent Banks's MILD, along with Black Sheep, Hobgoblin, Spitfire, Abbot, Pedigree and Timothy Taylor Landlord.
A place i would quite happily stop at again, a nice little visit - it looks better than the last time i visited
