Large foody pub on the main road. Only Tribute on the beer front - a bit pricy but not a bad drink. Lots of outdoor seating. I'd call again to eat but not worth it for a pint!

Foody pub with a rustic apperarance inside. Floors are flag stone, wood and large floor tiles with one section having a coarse beige carpet. The ceilings are adorned with beams, some with a holey woodworm effect and others a bit of a challenge to those who are 6 feet plus.
Half of the pub is filled with sofas and leather chairs, the other half is set out for dining. There are a couple of wood burning open fires and a wine store in the centre of the pub is an interesting feature.
Main courses from the stove, grill and rotisserie menu start at £12 but, on Sunday lunchtime, two course meals start at £13.
Real ales were Purity UBU, Sharp's Doom Bar and Leeds Brewery Midnight Bell.
A decent place to go and take the family.

General Staal left this review about The Plough & Harrow
Brought Mrs Staal here. It is indeed what appears to be a 19th century brick cottage, converted into a pub at some point in its history. Its whitewashed. I didn't really spend time looking at its exterior as it was freezing cold and dark on our visit.
It is a foody place (we did not eat) and the 'restaurant' wraps around the left hand side and rear of the place. The front is a 'bar' with a very welcoming open fire.
It ain't cheap, but then, I didn't really make a note of the prices. The Timothy Taylor Landlord and Enville Ale was very well kept. There was also Purity UBU, which isn't to my taste so I didn't try it.
The interior is very modern, with what looked like a copper notice board advertising champagne offers behind the bar. However, I found it very comfortable to simply drink. There was no pressure to eat. I would definitely come back if I could persuade Mrs Staal to drive.
