A detached corner pub with a beer garden at the rear. It is a fantastic Georgain styled pub in white painted brick and with black paintwork. Nearly symmetrical, it has the usual sash windows on the upper floor, with sash and bay windows, with central entrances on the lower floor. The pub has a mansard roof.
The pub seems to have changed a little since my last visit. The pub has three rooms. On entering from the side door there is the lounge to the left and an open-area to the right that formed a small Indian restaurant within - this had its own serving area too. However, this was now devoid of tables - so i assume the restaurant has gone. The Bar is further up but was so pavked we retired to the lounge it appeared to be in the same decor as the lounge, with a brick fire at one end and Sky TV, with quite loud general background music. The lounge looks like it has been refurbished, it is in ream and grey painted wood panel, with yellow ceiling and a red carpet, with brown seating. Some whiskey bottles decorate with cartton art, slightly modern looking they are excellent pictures of cartoon characters, including; Desperate Dan, Homer, Dennis the Menace, Top Cat and Andy Capp. The service was very friendly. The clientele was mixed, from CAMRA members to locals.
Beer; Tap stuff, now with a decent Grays MILD (Highgate gone). On handpulls there were Pedigree, an excellent Church End Brewery's Goats Milk and Dancing Duck's Nice Weather for Ducks.
I have now visited several times and it is both a freindly place and one that does good and more unusal beers (compared to surrounding pubs). Throroughly enjoyed.

Been to this pub about a month ago and found it to be a very enjoyable experience. My friends and I dined in the Indian restruant. Service was a little bit slow, but the food was wonderful and so reasonably priced too. After our meal we headed into another small room towards the back where there was a disco. Luckily it wasn't cramped in there and my friends and I still enjoyed a good dance. The DJ was a lovely fellow who played nearly all of our requests, which was a good job as the music he picked himself wasn't to many people's liking. I found bar staff and restruant staff to be very polite and welcoming and very apologetic for the long time we waited for out meal. But despite that, I would go there again. It all made for an enjoyable night out :)
