Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Kings Arms
Surprisingly large Marston's pub north of Great Bridge, with a substantial front bar, with a pool table and dartboard at one end but limited seating, and a separate (and better furnished) rear dining room. Refurbished at some stage with a mix of traditional and modern elements, and all tidy enough. Does do food, but only in latter part of the week. The pair of handpumps on the rear part of the central counter are sadly disused, so I consoled myself with the keg Banks's Original (£2.95).

A detached Marston's pub and eatery, with a patio area. There has been a King's Arms on the site since the Victorian period, but this is a modern rebuild (1985, i think). It is in brick and cream render, with a front facing gable - so much nicer than most modern pubs. The interior has two clear halves, but has been knocked through into one. At the back, on two levels, is the lounge. It is in brick and red, with a white ceiling. Old photos are on the walls and some soft music was on - the TV wasn't. The front area is the bar. It is mainly in brick, with green chesterfield leather seating. There is a tiled fireplace and old photos are on the walls. The TV had general programmes on. There is a dart board. The service was fine and the clientele mixed, but mainy just drinking, a rarity for a food place. Beer; usual tap stuff with Banks's Bitter, MILD (decent), Hobgoblin and Shipyard Independence Pale Ale (decent) on handpull. I felt quite comfy in here as a drinker, one of the better foody places.

One of the friendliest public houses in Tipton, there is something about drinking beer in Tipton,or is it just us? Myself and my partner come over regularly from our place in Yardley,Birmingham just to drink here as this pub has a good atmosphere and more importantly, the 'King' was(and still is) a favourite watering hole for generations of my partner's family, past and present.
A warm welcome awaits you at the King, and the food ain't bad either.
