This is a traditional but clean and tidy pub with nice sash windows, effectively split into two halves by the central bar.
Visited just after midday today to find two hand pumps at the bar, one unclipped and the other offering Chinook by Lancaster. The lady behind the bar was on the phone but as soon as she saw me at the bar stopped her conversation to serve me and resumed it later, which impressed me in an age where many people seem to make their phones their number one priority. I found the service to be friendly and welcoming.
I didn't spot any food menus so I'm assuming this pub does not do food.
Can't fault the place for a swift drink. The Chinook was £1.40 for a half, which is very reasonable.

A nice locals local pub. This is a 4 roomed pub with a central servery. The public bar is to your right on entering and to your left is a lounge which is effectively split into 2 rooms. To the rear is another room with pool table. There were 2 handpumps on the bar with Martland Mill Lancashire Loom and Speckled Hen on today. A beer garden is to the rear. This was a friendly place on my Thursday afternoon visit.
