A decent pub with 2 ales on. My pint of Scrumdown (Something to do with the 6 Nations) was sadly off and had to be returned so we were left with the Speckled Hen. This was a decent pint though. The friendly and chatty barman advised us that he had put the Scrumdown back on and offered us a free half each to test it! A masterstroke on his part as we then had another pint of it. My usual one pint visit turned into a 2 pint call and I enjoyed it. Happy to call again.

The interior in here was pretty impressive, just the beer choice, GK IPA and Old Speckled Hen, didn't really float my boat. However the food was fairly decent and the service was superb, respectable place.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Old School House
Converted Corporation School dating from 1826 that has various seating / dining areas of mixed character although the exterior promises more. Also has a large pavement seating area. 'L'-shaped counter with a bank of four handpumps on each side, and as a Greene King pub I found IPA, Old Speckled Hen (£3.70, and a reminder of its former name) and Abbot as a duplicated selection on both.
