Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Saracens Head Hotel

Large Sizzling pub on a corner with Tudorbethan facades on both elevations and a mostly opened-out L-shaped layout comprising various seating / dining areas. Given a dull refurbishment at some stage, but parts are now starting to look a bit worn and faded. Also has a narrow patio area on the main-road side. Just Doom Bar (£3.50) available from the three handpumps, with London Pride 'settling in the cellar' next.

Large Mitchell and Butler roadside pub which is now part of their sizzling pubs chain so yes, you do know what to expect, a lot of people and families during the day and early evening eating from their laminated card of pub classics and deep fried delights, especially as it is attached to and acts as the restaurant for the former Premier Inn which is now Redwings Lodge Solihull.
We kind of had to visit to inspect as we were staying in the Lodge which has its own entrance straight into the bar. Internally it’s a traditional pub decor with lots of separate areas around the main serving bar. Three ale pumps but two badged with Doombar, with different design pump clips for some reason, and Purity UBU on the third. Not too inspiring and my pint of UBU was not the best I’ve had.
This pub clearly serves a purpose but with better options within walking distance we did not return during our stay in Shirley.

I hadn't been in here for years and it is now part of the Sizzling chain so you know what to expect. Only Thwaites Wainwright on offer but it was decent. Happy to have called in again.
