Another foody pub (although the kitchen was closed due to staff illness when I called). No ale on so I played it safe with a bottle of Newcastle.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Hobs Meadow
Substantial pub with a rather barn-like elongated rectangular bar to the left-hand side where the entrance sign is and a smaller dining room (seemingly not in regular use) to the right. Standard semi-modern furniture and decor throughout. Just Doom Bar (£3.00) from a brace of handpumps, but at least it does do a real ale (which is not a given in these parts).

A suburban foody type place, however it seems to have more of a community type feel than normal chainy places. Its run by The Number Works Pub Co.
The bad point here is that its sparse decor makes it rather cavenou, but its tidy, the staff are friendly and the quality of the beer is good, though its restricted to 1 real ale. A bit of interior design and it could be a good roadside pub.
