Finally re-opened as a real ale pub, with a Thai restaurant in the old function room. The old bar and lounge have been knocked together, forming an 'L' shaped room all of which is nicely decorated, with a few quirky items around and a big wood burner as a focal point. Several real ales on sale, Bathams bitter, Holdens special and golden glow, Enville bitter (ginger to follow) and Burton Bridge stairway to heaven being ones I can remember. The ones I sampled were top quality and at £3 a pint about average for the area.
It's a place I will be returning to and is certainly worth a visit.

Dropped by this pub yesterday, as previous comments suggested it was to re-open. It is still closed and boarded-up, although there are some metal railings on site - overall, it still seemed lifeless.

Apparently due to re-open in September, as a free house, the pub having been purchased from Marstons.
