The Crown has been closed for the last couple of months on police advice after a spate of problems. The decision on its future takes place this week.

This is a rather dull, 60s Banks’s ‘box’ looking pub, with a side extension. It is in light and dark undressed brick, heavily decorated with a scalloping effect.
The interior has a couple of rooms. At the rear there is a lounge in cream and cream painted brick, which as a DJ booth. I haven’t seen it open as yet. The front bar room seems to be in a mix of brown, coffee and white, with a brick floor (some lino seems to have been just taken up). There is a pool table here and a punch-bag machine, along with a TV, which wasn’t on. The music was charty at my last visit. The service is fine and the clientele was just a couple of people.
Beer; usual tap stuff, with Banks’s MILD on handpull, which was OK.
I think either the pub is up for sale, or has just been taken over. Nothing especially to go out of your way for.
