A large detached 60s looking Banks's estate pub. The pub is in undressed brick with some scalloping effect and has both a front and side gable end. There is a bay window feature and a front patio area.
The interior has three rooms all served by a large central serving bar. Walking through the 'Lounge' door at the front of the pub presents you with the lounge directly ahead, or a snug to the left. The snug is in two shades of green, with a red ceiling and patterned carpet. Despite being called a snug, it is a large as the lounge. There are plates and old local photos on the walls. The lounge is in pink and red, again with old local photos and some of bull terrier dogs. The bar room is served by a side and central front door. The bar is L-shaped and has both a pool table and dart board. The walls are salmon and white, with a white ceiling and a tile floor. There is also a brick fireplace. The walls again have old photos and lots of pictures of bull terriers. There is a TV in the bar room, which had the BBC footy on and there was no music. The service was very friendly, indeed, i ended up having a good chat to the young couple running the place, who were really pleasant. There were a few locals in on both of my visits.
Beer; usual tap stuff with Banks's MILD, bitter and a sometime guest. I have been a couple of times and the bitter and MILD are decent.
A large pub, still, it is tidy with all the pub games and decent real ales. I am more than happy to pop in for one or two.
