An early Victorian pub,not too far from the Oxford Canal .The interior is open plan with some exposed brickwork,some old timbers,and comfortable bench seating running underneath the front windows,with a section devoted to darts and pool at the far end of the room.Food is served,with some meal deals available and there is a firm community feel to the pub which runs a football team and sea fishing club.The trophy cabinet was quite full.Bar stools are dotted along the long serving area,and the bar staff were polite and very helpful in phoning a cab for us.
There is a solitary handpump which may not have worked for a while,so only keg products available on my trip .My Guiness (£3.30) was very acceptable.Higher marks would have been in order had there been some real ale,but this clean and tidy pub is still a good asset to an area which has losts several pubs over the years.

Just been to the Old Crown for the first time we had steak and chips by far the best steak and chips we have had for a long time the service was excellent and the prces very reasonable , will definately go again
