This is a great little boozer,it currently has 3 ales on purity permanently on either mad goose or gold, soon to have 4 ales on.They have a choice of 3 lagers on draught,2 ciders and 2 bitters also. Lovely open fire, very warm and welcoming, worth a look in!

just reopened after short closure following departure of last manager over rent increase. The interior walls have all been painted white and it looks a little clinical.Three beers on offer were Black Sheep,Bass,Pedigree and the condition was alright but too fresh.Manager said he intends to instal screen with horse racing and sports being shown. Will have to wait and see how it performs in future.

An interesting end terrace Victorian pub, knocked through into a second building. In the GBG 2010, it has a large side beer patio area. It is in cream render with blue and black paint work around the window lintels and sills.
The interior is an L-shape, with a pool and darts area in red and white walls, with a wood floor to the left on entry. The main room stretches out in front of you, with a seating area, which narrows as you pass the serving bar to the left, after which it opens up again with another seating area at the end and where there is a small tiled fire place. This room is mainly in red and white, with patterned carpet and the whole pub has a white ceiling. The pictures on the walls were mainly of Vespas and scooters, and there is a model collection behind the bar. The TV wasn't on and a couple of 60s tracks came on to disrupt the silence. Service was fine and there was a small clientele to start - this increased as a DJ or karaoke started to set-up.
Beer; tap stuff with a great Holden's Golden Glow and Flower's Original on handpull, along with Oakham JHB.
Still a quality pub - a proper traditional boozer, a must do as far as i am concerned.
